Gong Xi Fa Cai!

thought i'd drop a quick update on our home for you, plus since this update would have pictures, would be visually more exciting for you all =)))

we bought our fridge and washing machine!!! both from LG hahaha... took us a few months to decide on the model and even the brand kekeke... quite fun the process of hunting and finalizing our shortlist then deciding on which is the one we are keen on. below was our decision making process, good for those who are considering getting appliances now or in the near future =)))

washing machine:
1) how often we wash our clothes and what we wash determines the washing capacity - we settled for 9kg as we only wash clothes during the weekends
2) top load or front load - we chose front load cos of the way the drum spins. it is energy and water saving, plus cares for your clothes more as it doesnt stretch it that much
3) conventional drum or direct drive - direct drive is quieter and supposedly more durable but if the drum spoils, you change the whole drum. if the conventional drum spoils, you can change either the rubber or the drum etc. we chose conventional drum

fridge:
1) 3 or 4 ticks - realised that if a fridge has a 'super cool' function, which allows the food to be chilled much faster than normal if you on that function, NEA will rate it based on that usage. but none of us will use that on a daily basis, maybe say once or twice a year when there are huge gatherings like reunion dinners at our place and we have to chill food real quick. so a fridge with energy efficiency ratings of 3 ticks, essentially is 4 ticks on a normal day. our LG fridge with 'super cool' function has 3 ticks
2) capacity - good to buy a larger size than what you are comfortable with, said all the salespeople. we couldnt buy into that idea cos we couldnt see ourselves even filling up half of the one we wanted to buy. our fridge might not be as big as your mum's
3) number of doors. the lesser the better as the more doors there are, more cold air will have the chance to escape so the fridge will have to work harder to keep cool and waste more electricity. we got a 2 door

super happy with our purchase cos it is definitely the LOWEST in singapore!!! if you know of anywhere selling even lower than what we got, please tell us cos we can get them to match it as long as it is before delivery =))) fridge @ $559 and washer @ $740!!! praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!!! ^_^
